About

Sarah Miller is a writer exploring how living systems function.
Her work began with a simple question: What are the conditions that allow living systems to function well? That question led her to develop a systems perspective exploring how conditions shape outcomes, how people, places and organisations both shape and are shaped by the larger systems of which they form a part, and how the quality of those relationships influences function.
At the heart of this work is The Conductor Principle®; the proposition that sustainable life depends upon correspondence between living systems, what they actually require, and the conditions through which they function. Healthy systems do not sustain themselves by quietly transferring their costs elsewhere; to other people, communities, the environment or the future. Human wellbeing, environmental wellbeing and long-term organisational health are interconnected consequences of the same underlying conditions.
The Exquisite Standard is the first practical application of this work. It is a new independent measure for luxury, examining the Human, Environmental and Structural conditions beneath destinations, brands and experiences and how those conditions work together as a whole
Sarah is the author of Beneath the Surface and The New Luxury. Her writing has appeared in The Sunday Times Style, Positive Luxury and other leading lifestyle publications, and she has been featured by SheerLuxe.
